about

Prologue:

When I cane across this picture of my twenty eight
year old grandson, so many memories came to mind.
Some of those memories are included in this song.

Reading to him while he nestled in my arms as
I rocked him in my rocking chair were precious
moments too. He loved to be read to.

Even if you are not a grandparent you may have
your own fond memories of times shared with
a beloved grandmother, grandfather, aunt or uncle.

lyrics

Verse 1
On Sundays - we had our time
Over for lunch- - we played outside
At Ruston Way - we roamed
Played at a park on our way home

Verse 2
Skipping rocks on water was fun to do
Played army with plastic soldiers too
Rain or sun no matter to us
We had games to play no time to fuss

CHORUS
Eyes so blue when you were small
Now you’re almost six feet tall
Small or grown you brought me joy
You’ll always be your Grandma’s boy

Verse 3
Sculptures you made out of playdough
Picked flowers for mom who loves you so
There were soccer games and football
Time went by - you’re no longer small

Verse 4
At sixteen you learned how to drive
We drove my Marquie - it ran just fine
It was like a tank - you didn’t care
We had fun driving here and there

CHORUS

Verse 5
High school days went by in a dream
A part time job filled your hours between
Our time together - now once in awhile
When I think of you I can only smile

CHORUS
